This communication proposal is based on the difficulties of professionals to intervene in intercultural contexts that are all the more complex as the codes related to representations of the world of the other escape us. Inexorably, today, migratory movements are strengthening in the world, for geopolitical as well as economic and climatic reasons. Individuals who experience these migrations face transformations that undermine identities since immigration does not leave them unscathed (Tobie Nathan). Social work and medico-social professionals accompany these people on a daily basis, adults or minors, from different cultural backgrounds. In this context, how can professionals take into account the history of people, their migratory journeys and resituate them in geopolitical and cosmogonic dimensions, but also in filiation to help people confronted with cultural changes? to integrate ? To overcome the obstacles that everyone points out, we have to rely on the cultural affiliations of families and people in social, medico-social or child protection structures to think about the relationship of help. and accompanying.
Therefore, the meeting that is played is in fact intercultural; it requires skills and a posture that is not obvious. To provide professionals with a range of mobilizable responses we have chosen to build a training cycle that allows social workers to reflect on their professional positioning to favor the necessary adjustments. The formative approach carried out within this framework is articulated around a space of ethno-clinical mediation that we will present in its complexity, its requirements and postulates. In order to reinforce the dynamics committed to implant them on the territory, the ethno-clinical mediation area is the subject of a study of need conducted by a team of trainees preparing a State Diploma of Social Engineering which we will make account.
In order to accompany young people registered in other cultural references to the simple question "where are you from? May seem like a trivial question, but it quickly becomes very complex. To enable them to respond to this, it is important to set up a framework of intervention that leads professionals to use their own culture to explore the limits and opportunities to hear something from the other. It is a question of daring a step aside from a model of intervention which, by privileging usually the quest of the good distance, clashes with an impossible to communicate. The training construct then aims to move from an alleged good distance to a fair presence.
Combining training and research from an experienced ethnoclinical mediator bodes well for transforming practices starting with reception. The device in its implementation invites to a process of cultural decentration to better take into account the anthropological foundations of the other. We can then, in its extension, address questions of lineage, founding myth, rites of passage according to age classes, place of ancestors and beliefs. These aspects are all the more valuable to us as we observe fragilities in the structuring of identities when the problem of transmission proves unapproachable. In this work, we seek to apprehend the logic of humanization by considering them as fundamental values in the cradle of cultures, while seeking the possible forms of hybridization from the representations that we merge.
